J+G Design Shops the Union Square Green Market + Union Square Pavilion
Fall is our favorite season in New York and it is also the best time to visit the Union Square Greenmarket. Who doesn’t get excited for cool, crisp weather and hot apple cider? Greenmarket vendors are over flowing with different varieties of apples, squash and other autumnal produce. The colors are so beautiful and inspiring – ombrés of orange, red, magenta, purple.
When we’re done meandering the tents we love to take a seat on one of the green and white bistro chairs, sip a cappuccino and admire the newly renovated pavilion with its neo-lassical arch. Simon Oren, owner of Barbounia and Marseilles just to name a few, won the bid to turn the historic pavilion into a restaurant.
The sprawling chandeliers, bright orange umbrellas and lush palms make you feel like you’re dining alfresco somewhere in the French Riviera – but a honk from a NYC taxi will quickly snap you back to reality! Enough daydreaming – off to tackle the rest of the day!
