Touring The High Line Hotel
J+G Design is based in Chelsea so naturally the High Line Hotel has become one of our favorite haunts. We watched (as nosey neighbors will do) as the old General Theological Seminary was transformed into the chic High Line Hotel it is today. Interesting fact: The hotel is housed in only a portion of architect Charles Haight’s mid-1800’s masterpiece – the other part is still a functioning seminary! Some of the highlights include the monks’ old gymnasium floor that is now the conference rooms and the grand rectory that now acts as a beautiful events space. All of the 60 rooms are carefully decorated with vintage furniture and unique touches. We’re thinking a stay-cation is in order!
Oh…and we just can’t get enough of that blush-toned wallpaper!
